I have plans for this blog. Really I do. I just got a bit distracted.
You see, I've finally got around to putting up a business website (after 7 years...yeesh, it took a while). And if you give a mouse a cookie....or in this case, if you give a Chloe a website, she's going to decide to launch her first online training ever. And I think you could see how that would pull one off their fledgling personal blog game. (My other site is http://chloefrenchbirth.com for those of you who would like to check it out.)
Anyhoo, let me see if I update you a bit on the past few weeks.
*Blessed Is She created a beautiful Advent journal/workbook this year. I was delighted to get my hands on one. While I didn't keep up with it every single day, when I did it was the impetus for so many meaningful thoughts and moments of greater connection with God. In general, I would say that discovering BIS has been one of the best parts of 2014. If you haven't been reading their devotionals or connecting with the ladies in the Facebook group, you've GOT to get on that.
*Gradual roll-out of the tree (my very first) and Christmas decorations (pretty much my very first too). Yes, this was my first time decorating for Christmas. Strange but true. In the past, I just lived vicariously through family and friends, but that started to feel a bit lame. So my parents' graciously hooked me up their surfeit of Christmas items and sent me home with trunk and back seats FULL of Christmas.

Thanks, Dad and Lu!
* Vintage Secret Santa!!!! This is 100% definitely a keeper tradition.
My plan was to fully decorate the tree on December 14 - Gaudate Sunday and my birthday and the day of the Caroling Party. But I've never had an artificial tree before so wanted to fiddle around with it without the stress of people coming over. So it went up with just lights for about a week.
There are no pictures from the Caroling Party, but it was a great time. Especially for the little ones. And THANK GOD for Mione's & Pizza Tugo's. They supplied a giant platter of baked ziti and pizza when I had a colossal meltdown and learned I am NOT in fact Martha Stewart and just decided to order out. They saved the day really. But the neighborhood kids seemed to have a great time and that's all that mattered to me. Plus they decorated the tree all by themselves. Child labor at its best ;)
*Enter The Flu just days before Christmas -- dun dun DUN!!! That really stunk. But I was fever free on Christmas Eve, but skipped church (boo!) for the first time in oooo ages? I still felt rotten and didn't want to get anyone sick. It felt really really weird to not be there.
*I'll post Part 2 in a couple days with my feeble attempt at celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas. In closing...have a couple more festive pictures ;)
